Marching for war zone zoo animals
Miss Earth hopefuls teamed up with the Earth Organisation and school children from Alexandria to walk the Johannesburg Zoo in aid of enclosed wildlife in war zones.
Yvette Taylor of the Earth Organisation said, ” Miss Earth South Africa has as its mission ‘ true beauties for a cause’. We are a group that strives to obtain effective results. This was a perfect opportunity to stand up and create much needed awareness about preserving our natural heritage, especially in time of war.”
All attendees, including animal rights activists, signed a United Nations resolution aimed at protecting wildlife in war-torn places.
Earth Organisation founder, Lawrence Anthony said, ” The organisation has its sight set on changing international law. We are engaging in a worldwide campaign to get people involved in the survival of wildlife in war zones.
