DISNEY STORE partner’s with THE EARTH ORGANIZATION FRANCE
Hurricane Klaus left the French Forest of Landes devastated. The Earth Organization is working hard to create carbon wells to store CO2 in France, holding a number of large tree planting events with supporters. The Earth Organization France has now gained a powerful ally and will be able to reforest the Landes after the hurricane.
On the 31st March 2009, the Walt Disney Company joined forces with The Earth Organization to give the reforestation project a boost. Disney have created a reusable shopping bag and 1 euro of each bag sold will be given to the Earth Organization to get Landes back in shape.
Teresa Tideman, Director General of Disney Store Europe says, “Disney Stores are very happy to be partnered with The Earth Organization France. This partnership as well as other projects launched by Disney Stores will show visitors the importance of preservation of trees in the environment.
Noëlle Saugout, President of The Earth Organization France said “The wish of Disney Store to reforest the Landes is a project The Earth Organization France is very proud to be part of. Trees provide us with oxygen to breathe and they absorb carbon dioxide, which cools the Planet down. Mankind’s future survival on Earth is entirely dependent on the well being of our existing trees and the regeneration of forests.”
